Ways To Induce Labor Naturally

Bananas – Eat in moderation to assist with uterine contractions. Do not take potassium supplements.

Borage seed oil – Along with primrose oil and black currant oil, borage seed oil is a natural source of prostaglandins, fatty acids that help induce labor. Borage oil prepares the body for birth by softening the cervix and increasing the flexibility of the pelvic ligaments. With that tissue softened, labor often quickly follows because of the pressure exerted on the cervix by the baby’s head.

Dates – Six dates a day in the lead-up to your due date has been shown by studies to make labor start, help with dilation, and keep labor from going too long. Plus, dates are yummy!

Sex - If you feel up to sex, this is a good start towards getting ready for labor. The sperm contains natural prostaglandins that help soften and dilate the cervix.

Thyme Tea - Reportedly, thyme tea can cause stimulate contractions, sending you into labor.

Stair Climbing - All your friends may be telling you that you need to walk to get labor going. Physical activity like walking may help your baby’s head to drop lower and put a little pressure on your cervix. Walking stairs may help even more though. Taking bigger steps may be why. When you take larger steps, you lift your legs higher and this position may put more pressure on your cervix than just ordinary walking.

Foods that may induce labor include foods that contain basil and oregano, or ginger may help to start labor.

Evening primrose oil (EPO) has been used to help soften the cervix. EPO contains a chemical that the body converts to prostaglandins. Like semen, prostaglandins help ripen a woman’s cervix. Research has been inconclusive as to whether or not EPO I actually effective at inducing labor, but many midwives recommend it to their patients to prepare for labor. To use EPO, you can break the EPO capsule open and rub it on your cervix, or you can insert the capsules vaginally.

Massage – Find a massage therapist qualified to work with pregnant women. Many will know various points to massage to induce labor. Massage is not recommended during the early stages of pregnancy.

Warm Baths – Soaking in a warm bath may help to get labor going. The rationale behind why baths help is two-fold. Soaking in the tub helps to relax you. There is evidence that stress and being uptight may keep you from going into labor. Anything that gets your mind off of the fact that you are still pregnant may help. Secondly though, soaking in a warm bath may help to soften up your cervix and prepare your body for labor.

Aloe Vera – Aloe vera juice can cause preterm labor. However, taken at term, contractions are a good thing. However, make sure you do your research and are aware of possible side effects before trying this.

Motherwort – This is a great herb to use at the end of your pregnancy. It makes your contractions more effective, regulates the Braxton Hicks contractions, and stops false labor. Taken shortly after birth, motherwort can also calm your nerves and potentially prevent postpartum depression.
Pineapple – Best taken fresh and raw. Pineapples contain the enzyme bromeliad, which can soften your cervix and and bring on labor. It can also stimulate your stomach, which could also help get some contractions going. Statistically speaking, the chemicals in pineapple that are said to start labor aren't very high. It would take a lot of pineapple to get labor going.

Membrane Stripping – Membrane stripping is not something you can do by yourself. Your doctor or midwife can do what is known as a “membrane sweep” once your cervix starts to ripen. Stripping or sweeping your membranes can stimulate labor. Your doctor will reach inside of you and run his fingers around the edge of the amniotic sac, gently trying to separate it from your uterine wall. This can cause contractions and the release of prostaglandins which may jump start labor.

Relaxation exercises – Try some relaxing music and lie back or even join a meditation class. Any of the relaxation exercises you learned in a childbirth class would work here. Tension works against labor, while letting everything go may help bring it on.

Walking – Walk as much as possible. Walk on a level path or up and down stairs to bring the baby into position.

Swimming – Relaxed swimming can help bring out the baby. Both the water and the movement help.

Squaw Vine – Old remedy. Not sure how well it works. Can be taken during the last six weeks of pregnancy. Helps to thin and soften the cervix. Some medical information warns against using this herb during pregnancy.

Stretch and sweep of membranes – Your midwife or doctor can perform this simple procedure. A finger is inserted into the cervix and a gentle 'sweep' of the finger slightly separates the uterus wall and amniotic sac, sometimes leading to labor within hours or days. Some women say it's an easy, painless procedure, others find it very painful. How well it works can also depend on whether you are very far dilated or not.

Basil – Basil is an emmenagogue, an herb that stimulates blood flow to the uterus and can stimulate menstruation. Throw some in your cooking.

Bouncing On Birth/Exercise Ball – ball exercises can help turn your baby and move him or her into the birth canal. Midwives and doulas have been using this technique for years to speed up the dilation and move the baby down into the pelvis. Find a comfortable position and gently bounce up and down to encourage your baby to move into position.

Clary Sage Oil – Research shows that clary sage oil aromatherapy can help promote labor and relieve pain. In fact, it is so effective in promoting labor that it’s use is contraindicated at any other time during pregnancy. This method should only be used by a trained midwife or practitioner – it’s not one to do by yourself as it can cause harm if used incorrectly.

Golden Seal – Its active components of hydrastatine and berberine have long been taken to induce labor. It’s most easily taken orally in tablet form. As it can be dangerous during pregnancy, if taken incorrectly, seek professional advice first.

Kneeling on all fours – A friend of a friend was told to do this. Swing the hips back and forth. Her waters broke just a few minutes later. Coincidence? Maybe!

Licorice Root – Try to get the root, not the candy. The root contains more licorice and usually less sugar. Like castor oil, it has a laxative effective that causes cramping in the bowls, which in turn can lead to uterine contractions.

Nipple stimulation – Have your husband gently rub or roll the nipple to try to induce labor. The stimulation releases oxytocin, a hormone that causes contraction. The jury is still out on this method though: some claim that it causes very strong contractions which can be dangerous. If you’re concerned, some experts recommend only massaging one breast at a time, or only massaging for five minutes and then waiting to see what happens before continuing. I tried it and I had barely more than cramps! For increased stimulation try a breast pump.

Squats – Doing a few of these each day often helps to move the baby down and into position. Squats use gravity to push the baby downwards, thereby jumpstarting your birth naturally.

Swimming – Relaxed swimming can help bring out the baby - both the water and the movement help

A Bumpy Car Ride - Sometimes the baby just needs a little bit of jiggling to get into the correct position.

Skipping/Galloping – You might feel a bit self-conscious skipping around your house or neighborhood, but it works by the same mechanism that walking does. It uses gravity to help get the baby into position.

Mandarin Oil – I had a friend who was told that rubbing mandarin oil on her heels would send her into labor. It didn't work for her, but it might for you!

Quinine – Be sure to check the dosage with a medical professional. Reputedly, it releases oxytocin, which can help bring on labor.

Eggplant – A lot of people swear by eggplant parmagiana. Again, it's delicious and good for you, so go ahead and eat as much as you'd like!

Swinging on a swing – Similar to a bumpy car ride but probably a bit easier on the mother.

Orgasms – Orgasms cause contractions, which is one of the reasons they feel so good. It's also why many women enjoy orgasms more during pregnancy! You can try this method alone or with a partner . . . whatever you're comfortable with.

Thyme Tea – Reportedly, thyme tea can cause stimulate contractions, sending you into labor.

41-42 Weeks: Carefully Researched Use of Castor Oil or Cohosh

Castor Oil – When it comes to ways to naturally bring on labor, castor oil is probably the most controversial one.  Castor oil is a strong laxative.  It can cause intense intestinal cramping and diarrhea.  Since the intestines are smooth muscle in close proximity to the uterus, which is also a smooth muscle, the intestinal ramping can spread from the bowels to the uterus and cause contractions.  There are some moms that swear by castor oil, and even some midwives that still recommend it. However, most moms are unwilling to try this method and many others will insist that it does nothing but cause a bad case of diarrhea.

Warning: Please read the article linked below before using castor oil and make sure you're fully informed about how to induce safely this way.

Black and Blue Cohosh –Take these herbs together in a tea with the support of your doctor or midwife to strengthen contractions.

Water or Coke?

We all know that water is important but have you ever seen it like this before?

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 30%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue and migraines.

6. Preliminary research indicates that the proper amount of glasses of water per day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking at least 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2.
You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

IMPORTANT INFO

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for HIGHLY corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

NOW THE QUESTION IS, WOULD YOU LIKE A GLASS OF WATER OR COKE?

Wart Removal

A wart is a benign skin tumor that results from a viral infection of the human papilloma virus (HPV). Typically, warts are not painful and are often of more cosmetic rather than medical concern for many people. While there are a number of commercial preparations are available on the market, you can treat your warts using natural home remedies.

1. GARLIC FOR WART REMOVAL
Garlic has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties that make it a good remedy for warts. A study conducted in 2005 used of extracts of garlic for treating warts and corns. In this experiment, a lipid extract of garlic was applied twice a day till the warts got cured. Lipid extract is the fat-soluble portion of the garlic though you don’t need to worry about extracting any portion from garlic and use this kitchen herb in the following ways.

Ways to Use Garlic for Warts

1. Take 1-2 cloves of garlic. Mash them and apply this on your wart. You may hold it with bandage or tape. Change after few hours.

2. Crush garlic cloves and extract the juice from it. Apply this on your warts  2-3 times a day.

3. Cut a garlic clove in two halves. Take one half and rub it on your wart.

2. WITCH HAZEL FOR WARTS
Witch hazel, extracted from the leaves and bark of the shrub Hamamelis virginiana, is an important part of traditional medicinal treatments in North America. Not only is it anti-inflammatory, but witch hazel is also an excellent anti-microbial agent. Due to this property, witch hazel extract can fight against a number of bacteria, virus and fungi. It is also an astringent having high amounts of tannins that will help tighten skin proteins and providing a protecting covering so that your skin heals faster once the wart gets removed.

Do This:
  • Pour some witch hazel extract on to a cotton ball.
  • Apply this to your warts.
  • Repeat 2-3 times a day.
  • Continue till you get rid of warts and even after that for few days to prevent warts.

3. POTATOES FOR WARTS REMOVAL
Potatoes are probably the most popular vegetable all over the world. Apart from tasting good, potatoes are a powerhouse of nutrients. The starches present in potatoes are complex carbohydrates. This vegetable is rich in minerals, vitamins and has small amounts of fiber and protein as well. But what is more important when it comes to cure warts is the highly alkaline nature of potatoes. This makes the environment hostile for virus to live. When you apply raw potatoes on your skin, you will feel its anti-irritating, soothing and de-congesting properties. In fact, most of the traditional medicines recommend potato juice for treating a wide variety of skin conditions like burns, rashes, skin redness, itching and dehydration. Here is how you can use potatoes for warts.

Ways to Use Potatoes for Warts

   1. Wash a potato properly and cut a thick slice out of it. Place this slice on your wart and rub it letting the potato juice coat your wart. Do this for a couple of minutes. Repeat 2-3 times a day.

   2. Grate or crush a potato and extract its juice. Apply this to your warts 2-3 times a day.

   3. At night, before you go to bed, place a slice of potato on your wart and secure it with bandage or tape. Remove it in the morning.

4. MILKWEED JUICE FOR WARTS
Abundantly found along the roadsides, milkweed has been used as a traditional medicine for warts and ringworm by Native Americans. Modern studies have found that this herb contains such propertiesas subtonic, diaphoretic, alterative, expectorant, diuretic, laxative, escharotic, carminative, anti-spasmodic, anti-pleuritic, stomachic, astringent, anti-rheumatic, and anti-syphilitic properties. Of these, its escharotic properties seem to be useful in curing wartsAn escharotic is defined as a substance that causes tissue to die and slough off such as acids and alkalis that do exactly the same. Its astringent properties too can help cure warts by speeding up the healing of skin. The milk like sap of milkweed can help you get rid of warts.

How to Use Milkweed for Warts?
  • Wash the area having wart and use a pumice stone to gently file your wart. It needs to be exposed a little so be gentle otherwise your skin will get damaged.
  • Get some sap of milkweed. For this, you can break leaves of milkweed and squeeze the bottom of their stems. The milk of milkweed will ooze out from here.
  • Apply this sap to your wart.
  • Leave and forget just to apply it again after a few hours.

Precaution: If you have a sensitive skin, it might get irritated. If you feel itch or see rashes, stop using milkweed juice and wash off the area properly. Also, milkweed sap can be poisonous if consumed. Be careful while using it on warts. Keep it away from kids and pets.

5. USE BANANA PEEL TO CURE WARTS
Banana is one of the healthiest fruits and so is its peel which is full of various nutrients. Banana peel has antioxidants too which is good for your skin as a whole but what seems to work for warts is the enzyme called proteolytic enzyme which is present in banana flesh as well as peels. This enzyme is thought to eliminate warts effectively.

Ways to Use Banana Peel for Warts

1. Take a banana peel. With the help of a spoon or some other object, scrap the inside of it to take out the inner material of the peel. Apply this to your warts. Repeat twice a day. Always wash hand after touching your wart.

2. Cut a piece out of a banana peel. Place this on your wart in a way that white part (the inner part) touches your wart. Now secure with a bandage or tape. Leave it overnight and remove in the morning. Continue applying banana peel till your warts get cured.

6. FIG SAP FOR WART REMOVAL
This is a folk remedy, probably from Iran, but now used in many parts of the world. A study was conducted to compare fig as a remedy for warts with cryotherapy. This study established that fig tree latex is effective in eliminating warts. The study found no side-effects on the patients who were subjects under this study and there was a low recurrence rate. However, the study did not found out the exact mechanism as to how fig tree sap treated warts but it said that this might be the result of the proteolytic activity of the fig latex enzymes.

How To Use Fig Sap For Wart
1.  Break a leaf or a thin sprig from a fig tree.
2.  Squeeze the bottom, exposed part, of the stem where you will see a white thick liquid. This is the latex of fig tree which can be called sap or fig milk too.
3.  Immediately apply this milk to your wart. In a few minutes, this latex will dry out and become a glue like substance.
4.  After applying the fig milk on your wart just forget it.
5.  Apply this twice a day.
6.  It will take about 7-10 days to burn out your warts.
7.  Initially, you will have only a prickling sensation and may not see any change in your warts but eventually, the wart will become darker in color and will fall off.

Precaution: Don’t apply fig milk on your face, especially around your eyes. It is also not recommended for warts on sensitive areas like the genital warts. You can, however, safely use fig sap to remove warts on your fingers, hands, neck, ears, feet etc.

7. DANDELION JUICE FOR WARTS
Dandelions have been used for many diseases, warts too. You may pluck any part of dandelion, be it roots, stems, or leaves, it will ooze out a white sticky resin which is sometimes referred to as dandelion juice. This juice of dandelion is applied directly to warts daily several times a day. The exact reason why dandelion cures warts is not known but they do dissolve the warts gradually.

How To Use Dandelion To Remove Warts
1. Get a dandelion flower, leaf or a part of its stem or root.
2. Squeeze the stem of the flower or leave or any other part that you have got.
3. As you squeeze, you’ll be able to see a milk like drop.
4. Touch your wart with this drop and leave it to dry on its own.
5. Repeat several times a day.
6. Your wart will gradually turn black and will eventually drop off.

8. PINEAPPLE FOR WARTS
Native Americans have long used pineapple juice to heal their wounds. It can be used to remove warts as well. The enzyme called bromelain present in pineapple juice can dissolve proteins and it is this property of the fruit that helps remove warts.

Ways to Apply Pineapple Juice to Warts

1. Take a piece of pineapple peel. Place this on your wart inside out, the soft portion should touch your wart. Secure this with a bandage or tape and then go to sleep. In the morning, remove the peel and wash off with warm water. Repeat this daily till your wart falls off. Take care so that pineapple peel doesn’t touch your healthy skin around the wart.

2. Take some pineapple juice in a bowl. Soak your wart affected skin in this juice for 3-5 minutes. Your feet or fingers having wart can be treated like this. Wash off and then pat dry. Repeat 3-4 times a day.

3. If your wart is in such an area that cannot be soaked in pineapple juice, just soak a cotton ball in pineapple juice and place this to your wart. Secure it with something like bandage or cloth. Remove the cotton ball after about 5 minutes. Repeat this 3-4 times a day.

9. BASIL LEAVES FOR WART REMOVAL
The holy basil has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that make it a great skin friendly herb. Because warts are a result of virus (HPV), the anti-viral basil can do wonders to get you rid of warts.

Get This:
  • Basil leaves (preferably fresh) - handful
  • Mortar and pestle (or anything that can crush the leaves)
  • Bandage or cloth
 Do This:
  • Crush the basil leaves. Use some water if needed. You need a thick paste of basil leaves.
  • Apply the basil leaves paste on your wart.
  • Secure this with bandage or cloth.
  • Leave it for as long as you can.
  • Again apply basil paste after sometime.
  • Repeat this throughout the day till you get rid of wart.

10. CHICKWEED FOR WART REMOVAL
Chickweed (Stellaria media) is one of the best herbs for wart removal, as per the folk remedies. However, try to get fresh organic chickweed for best results. This herb is high on saponins that help dissolve the warts. Here’s what you need to do with chickweed to get rid of warts.

Get This:
  • Chickweed
  • Water
 Do This:
  • Crush the chickweed using a little water.
  • Apply this crushed chickweed top your wart.
  • Secure it with a bandage.
  • Leave for several hours.
  • Repeat this 3-4 times a day.

11. MULLEIN FLOWERS FOR WARTS
Mullein flowers also find place in the cupboards of herbalists as a remedy for warts along with many other medical conditions. These flowers have in them gum, resin, some fatty matter, glucoside, free acid and phosphoric acid along with some mineral salts and volatile oil. All its components make mullein flowers a good remedy for wart removal. In fact, when you steep mullein flowers in olive oil for several days, you get a fine bactericide. It is popularly known as mullein oil and is used to treat many ailments.

Ways to Use Mullein Flowers for Warts

1. Make some mullein juice by crushing the flowers with a little water. Apply this to your warts 3-4 times a day.

2. Rub the powder made from the dried roots of mullein plant. This is more effective in curing rough warts than smooth ones.

3. Make some mullein tea by steeping the mullein flowers in hot water for several minutes. Make it a strong tea. Soak a cotton ball in this tea and place it on your warts. Secure with bandage and leave for several hours. Repeat 3-4 times a day.

4. Make mullein oil by infusing the flowers in olive oil. Let the oil steep in sun for at least 21 days. Strain and store in glass bottles. Apply this oil to warts 3-4 times a day.

12. ESSENTIAL OILS REMEDY FOR WART REMOVAL
If you think, its too much to find the herbs or prepare home made poultice, tea and oils to remove warts, you can always use essential
oils to cure them. Essential oils are easily available and are strong enough to deal with the stubborn virus that cause warts. However, not all or any essential oil will be effective in removing warts. You need to get an essential oil which has some kind of anti-viral, anti-bacterial and other such properties. Here is a list of such essential oils that can remove warts. Below the list, you will also find the way to use these oils so that you can get rid of warts.

List of Essential Oils Effective for Wart Removal
  • Blue yarrow oil
  • Cypress oil
  • Geranium-rose oil
  • Helichrysum oil
  • Lavender oil
  • Lemon oil
  • Tea tree oil

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS TO REMOVE WARTS

Get This:
  • Aloe Vera gel - few drops or fresh
  • One of the essential oils from the above list- 1 drop
  • Bandage, preferably a small medical tape
Do This:
  • Mix the drops of Aloe Vera gel and the drop of essential oil.
  • Apply this to your wart.
  • Now secure it with the bandage or tape.
  • Repeat this twice a day till you get rid of your wart.

13. NATURALLY BOOST IMMUNITY TO TREAT AND PREVENT WARTS
If you get warts more than often, you may have a suppressed immunity. A weakened immune system will always make you susceptible to common warts. A strong immune system is capable of triggering the creation of antibodies that can fight off the HPV virus as soon as it starts infecting you. A weakened immune system, however, may not create these antibodies. Therefore, you need to boost your immune system, naturally though, through diet.

  • Have lots of fresh and raw cabbage and broccoli.
  • Use more of raw garlic in your meals.
  • Just as garlic, use more onions too. More often keep your onions raw. However, cooked onions are good too.
  • Increase the intake of fresh lemon juice. You can even add lemon juice to your salads, gravies etc.
  • Have oranges, one every day. You need to increase your intake of foods high in Vitamin C too.
  • Have one banana every day. It is rich in potassium that can fight off virus.

Once you make your immune system stronger than before, you will experience lesser instances of warts. If, somehow, you get couple of warts now and then, you always have the above home remedies for wart removal to help you out.

You should also be doing a liver cleanse.
Remember, skin issues = Liver is diseased. The person needs the 2 month program.

Any skin issue (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rash, etc.) means diseased liver unless you had a temporary allergic reaction to something. But if you have lots of allergic reactions, you are very toxic and would need to go on the 2 month program for this as well.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:
1. Break open a Vitamin A capsule (25,000 IU) and rub some of the liquid onto the wart. Apply this once a day until the wart heals. This remedy is strictly for external use only: ingesting large doses of Vitamin A is toxic.

2. Crush a Vitamin C supplement tablet with the back of a spoon. Moisten it with a few drops of water, to form a paste. Apply this mixture directly onto the wart. Cover the area with a bandage and leave this on for at least 24 hours. The high acidic content of the Vitamin C mixture is believed to kill the papilloma virus that causes the infection.

3. Treat genital warts using tea tree oil. Dampen a cotton ball with some of this essential oil and apply it directly to the genital wart, dabbing gently. Do this once every day for up to 10 days. The oil may cause a mild tingling sensation.
