Warn Others: Tattoos Are Dangerous!


Tattoos are more popular than ever. According to a 2015 Harris Poll, about 3 in 10 (or 29%) people surveyed have at least one tattoo. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is also seeing reports of people developing infections from contaminated tattoo inks, as well as adverse reactions to the inks themselves.   

Over the years, the FDA has received-hundreds-of-adverse event-reports Involving tattoos: 363 from 2004-2016.

Before you get a tattoo, consider these key questions, answered by Dr. Linda Katz, M.D., M.P.H., director of FDA’s Office of Cosmetics and Colors:    

1. Should I be concerned about unsafe practices or the tattoo ink itself?

Both. While you can get serious Infections from unhyglenic practices and equipment that isn’t sterile, Infections can also result from ink that was contaminated with bacteria or mold. Using non-sterile water to dilute the pigments (ingredients that add color) is a common culprit, although not the only one.

There's no sure-fire way to tell if the ink is safe. An ink can be contaminated even if the container is sealed or the label says the product is sterile.

2. What is in tattoo ink?

Published research has reported that some inks contain pigments used in printer toner or in car paint. FDA has not approved any pigments for injection into the skin for cosmetic purposes.

FDA reviews reports of adverse reactions or infections from consumers and health care providers. We may learn about outbreaks from the state authorities who oversee tattoo parlors.

3. What kinds of reactions may happen after getting a tattoo?

You might notice a rash—redness or bumps –  in the area of your tattoo, and you could develop a fever.

More aggressive infections my cause high fever, shaking, chills, and sweats. Treating such infections might require a variety of antibiotics - possibly for months – or even hospitalization and / or surgery. A rash may also mean you're having an allergic reaction. And because the inks are permanent, the reaction may persist.

4. Can scar tissue build up after getting a tattoo?

Scar tissue may form when you get a tattoo or you could develop “granulomas,” small knots or bumps that may form around material that the body perceives as foreign. If you tend to get keloids – scars that grow beyond normal boundaries—you may develop the same kind of reaction to the tattoo.

5. What do I need to know about MRIs if I get a tattoo?

Some people may have swelling or burning In the tattoo when they have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), although this happens rarely and does not last long. Let your health care professional know that you have a tattoo before an MRI is ordered.

6. What about do-it-yourself tattoo Inks and kits?

Inks and kits sold as "do-it-yourself" to consumers have been associated with infections and allergic reactions. FDA is also concerned that consumers may not know how to control and avoid all sources of contamination.

7. Could other problems occur later on?

Although research is ongoing at FDA and elsewhere, there are still a lot of questions about the long-term effects of the pigments, other ingredients, and possible contaminants in tattoo Inks. FDA has received reports of bad reactions to tattoo Inks right alter tattooing and even years later. You also might become allergic to other products, such as hair dyes, if your tattoo contains p-phenylenediamene (PPD).

Then there's tattoo removal. We don't know the short- or long-term consequences of how pigments break down alter laser treatment. However, we do know some tattoo removal procedures may leave permanent scarring.

8. If I get a tattoo and develop an infection or other reaction, what should I do?

First: Contact your health care professional.

Second: Notify the tattoo artist, so he or she can identify the Ink and avoid using it again. Ask for the brand, color, and any lot or batch number of the ink or diluent in order to help determine the source of the problem and how to treat it.

Third: Whether you’re a consumer, tattoo artist, or health care professional, tell FDA. Provide as much detail as possible about the ink and your reaction and outcome. Reports from consumers are one of our most important sources of safety information.

Removing Tattoos May Be Harder Than You Think

So think before you Ink. Consider the risks.

Remember, too, that removing a tattoo is a painstaking process, and complete removal without scarring may be impossible.

Our bodies are to be the temple of the Holy Ghost, and we are not to treat them as we please. If we defile them, we will be naturally destroyed (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) (one of the ways we may defile our bodies is by what we eat and drink) (Daniel 1:8). We were bought with the blood of Jesus, therefore, our bodies are not our own, meaning we can't treat them any way we wish. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

As a result, we are not to tattoo our bodies (Leviticus 19:28) (if we have done this, just ask for forgiveness, but don't do it anymore (1 John 1:9) (Tattooing causes medical conditions as well. Were you aware that a large percent of those who get tattooed come down with Hepatitis C. HOW YOU MAY ASK? Because even though they change the needles, the ink is contaminated. It's like a back wash after doing a tattoo...the blood from the ink goes through the needle and some can get mixed into the ink inside the gun. A lot of people are unaware of this.

You see, you cannot separate God from true health & healing. It's true. God is the designer of our bodies. (Psalms 139:13-14/Hebrews 10:5 "a body has thou prepared me") And He knows what is best for us.

God is the manufacturer of every human body. And his manufacture's guide is the Bible, and mankind is not to live without it (Matthew 4:4). If they do, they will truly reap their own ways. (Proverbs 14:12; Galatians 6:7)

We are told that the Bible brings healing (Matthew 8:16) (I know of deadly cases that walked out of hospitals 100% healed after being read the Bible).

All throughout the Bible it tells us how to have great health. God wants us to have health in BODY, SOUL, & SPIRIT (1 Thessalonians 5:23) And according to WHO (World Health organization, this is what TRUE HEALTH IS) ...You see, most people are sick or dying from a sickness...And they that be whole need not a physician (Matthew 9:12) as Jesus tells us.

OTHER WAYS TO CAUSE US NOT TO BE WHOLE:
Some people feel that they can mark up the body with tattoos any way they want & pierce the body a little here and a little there.  But were you aware that if you pierce your body, your ear, navel, or anywhere for that matter, that it takes 1 yr. before you can give blood?  You have just poisoned the body.

The world knows that you have poisoned the body. The American Red Cross won't even take your blood. Why not? Because scientific research shows that when you put this ink on your body, it goes into the bloodstream & poisons the blood.  As a matter of fact, it is said, that in today's day, approximately 80% of those who get tattoos wind up getting hepatitis c -- the main reason is not the needle, because they change the needle due to certain health laws in each city, but the backed up ink in the gun is used over & over & all it takes is one infected person with hepatitis c to cause the problem. 

THE BIBLE SAYS:

“Know ye not that your bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye a are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)... WE ARE NOT AT LIBERTY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOD'S BODY.  God's people should not tattoo and pierce their bodies.

Warm Water & Lemon

Walking Lowers Breast Cancer Risk


Physical activity, particularly walking, can substantially reduce a woman's risk of developing breast cancer,” say two recently published scientific studies.

Accumulating scientific evidence has shown that exercise reduces risk for many types of cancer, but the mechanism involved has not been well understood.

 Detail on two decades of the exercise habits of more than 73,600 postmenopausal women age 50 to 73 was analyzed. Though a few women said they took vigorous exercise, most of the women walked at a pleasant pace of about 3 miles per hour. The analysis showed that those women who walked an hour a day had 14 percent less risk of developing breast cancer than those who walked less than three hours per week.

 Those few who were the most active, sweating vigorously for up to 10 hours a week, had a 25 percent less risk of breast cancer.

 “Walking is an easy, inexpensive type of exercise,” said one scientist. Almost everyone can do it. And for this population of postmenopausal women, it provided a very significant reduction in the risk of breast cancer.”

 In another study on younger women, women who were sedentary, but began a moderate aerobic exercise program for 16 weeks found that the ratios of estrogen metabolites in their urine shifted in a way that is believed to indicate a reduction in breast cancer risk. The women also lost body fat and gained muscle. Apparently by altering the ratio of estrogen metabolites and reducing body fat, the chemistry of a woman's body changes making it difficult for breast cancer to take hold. Exercise is not the only factor that reduces risk in breast cancer, but a significant one.

 “...physical activity, and especially walking,” said one of the researchers, “are so simple and so accessible to most women. And statistically, they do seem to reduce breast cancer risk...”

Walking, in all cases where it is possible, is the best remedy for diseased bodies, because in this exercise all the organs of the body are brought into use... THERE IS NO EXERCISE THAT CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF WALKING. By it the circulation of the blood is greatly improved.” Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 3, page 78.

Vitamin K For Babies


I think the question that everyone misses is this…

Are babies born 'deficient' in Vitamin K?

Why do they think this is?

Did our Creator make a mistake?

From a sperm and egg to the miracle of birth…yet God forgot to give them adequate Vitamin K at birth so that man has to step in and fix that mistake?

That is utterly foolish...

A newborn's natural prothrombin levels reach normal levels between days 5 and 7, peaking around the eighth day of life, related to the buildup of bacteria in baby's digestive tract to produce the vitamin K that is necessary to form this clotting factor. Day 8 is said to be the only time in a baby's life when his prothrombin level will naturally exceed 100 percent of normal. First, in order to absorb vitamin K we have to have a functioning biliary and pancreas system.

**Your infant’s digestive system isn’t fully developed at birth which is why we give babies breast milk (and delay solids) until they are at least 6-months-old, and why breast milk only contains a small amount of highly absorbable vitamin K.

Too much vitamin K could tax the liver and cause brain damage (among other things). As baby ages and the digestive tract, mucosal lining, gut flora, and enzyme functions develop, baby can then process more vitamin K. Low levels of vitamin K at birth just…makes…sense!!!???

**Secondly, cord blood contains stem cells, which protect a baby against bleeding and perform all sorts of needed repairs inside an infant’s body. Here’s the kicker, in order for a baby to get this protective boost of stem cells, cord-cutting needs to be delayed and the blood needs to remain thin so stem cells can easily travel and perform their functions. Imagine that, baby has his/her own protective mechanism to prevent bleeding and repair organs…that wasn’t discovered until after we started routinely giving infants vitamin K injections.

**Third, a newborn might have low levels of vitamin K because its intestines are not yet colonized with bacteria needed to synthesize it and the “vitamin K cycle” isn’t fully functional in newborns. It makes sense then to bypass the gut and inject vitamin K right into the muscle right? Except baby’s kidneys aren’t fully functional either.

**Fourth, babies are born with low levels of vitamin K compared to adults, but this level is still sufficient to prevent problems.

Finally, several clinical observations support the hypothesis that children have natural protective mechanisms that justify their low vitamin K levels at birth. I don’t know about you, but we should probably figure out why that is before we “inject or give drops now and worry about it later.”

Pretty silly, if a baby cannot assimilate any form other than the mothers own from BM...why do we give it?

if mom breastfeeds then the baby gets it from her.

Unrestricted access to the breast in the early days after birth is important, due to the higher levels of vitamin K in colostrum. The importance of early feeding has been recognized since the 1940's.

Babies who have been fed within their first 24 hours have significantly better coagulation times than babies not fed until after 24 hours. Vitamin K levels in the breast milk rise markedly in response to the mother eating vitamin K rich foods or taking vitamin K supplements.

It is essential that, to receive the full complement of vitamin K in breast milk, the baby completely finishes one breast before being offered the other. Any practice that involves restricting either the baby's time at the breast or the number of feeds will not allow the baby to receive optimum amounts of vitamin K and will also prolong the time it takes for the baby's intestine to be colonized by friendly, vitamin K manufacturing bacteria. Ask yourself this....Do you want to interrupt this natural process that we will never understand?

Some mothers choose drops without fully realizing the possible harm it can cause. Think about this and THIS is the reasoning behind the K at birth in Any form...Think about this "Research in 1937 found that K levels in "normal" neonates were between 30-60% 'adult levels', falling to 15-30% on day two, and then gradually rising again until about day 8-10. This research led to the continuing belief that these low levels in the newborn are a 'deficiency' and need to be corrected". Huh??

This is the entire evidence used to justify the use of K at birth in any form. FEAR is the only reason it’s used at all now even IF they needed it and IF a baby could even use it in any form...30 and 60 is a vast difference in numbers BUT drops and shots are given as one size fits all...??

Remember, those are ADULT numbers it was compared against.

Violife Cheese


This cheese is NOT healthy and here are the reasons why I say that.

Processed Food:
Violife cheese is mostly processed oil and starch, making it an unhealthy choice.
 
Processed Starch:
Contains modified food starch, potato starch, and corn starch which are processed, high-glycemic carbohydrates.
 
Added Salt (some of them):
Excessive sodium can lead to high blood pressure and increased risk of heart disease.

Vicks Vapor Rub – Congestion

This is usually used for congestion.

To make your own:
1/2 teaspoon peppermint essential oil 
1/2 teaspoon clove essential oil 
1/2 cup vegetable fat (like coconut oil)

Mix it together. Use this for congestion. Rub in on the nose, on the back, wherever you would normally use Vicks.

Vertigo

WHAT IS VERTIGO?
Vertigo is a specific type of dizziness that is characterized by the sudden sensation that you are spinning or that the world around you is spinning. The feeling can come and go or it can last for hours or days. Along with the dizziness, people may also experience nausea or vomiting, headaches, double vision or a racing heartbeat.

WHAT CAUSES VERTIGO?
  • Stress
  • Dehydration – Need to drink more water
  • Inner Ear Infection – Most common cause
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Head or Neck Injury
  • Migraine Headaches – which is usually lack of drinking enough water
  • Lack of Nutrients – improper diet
  • Medication
  • Lack of sleep –
  • Low Vitamin D – Get out in the sun for an hour a day unless raining
  • Alcohol Consumption – don’t drink any
  • Low magnesium – eat foods high in magnesium or make this magnesium drink

HOW DO YOU TREAT VERTIGO?

EPLEY MANEUVER
If your vertigo comes from your left ear and side:
  1. Sit on the edge of your bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the left (not as far as your left shoulder). Place a pillow under you so when you lie down, it rests between your shoulders rather than under your head.
  2. Quickly lie down on your back, with your head on the bed (still at the 45-degree angle). The pillow should be under your shoulders. Wait 30 seconds (for any vertigo to stop).
  3. Turn your head halfway (90 degrees) to the right without raising it. Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Turn your head and body on its side to the right, so you're looking at the floor. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Slowly sit up, but remain on the bed a few minutes.
  6. If the vertigo comes from your right ear, reverse these instructions. Sit on your bed, turn your head 45 degrees to the right, and so on.
Do these movements three times before going to bed each night, until you've gone 24 hours without dizziness.

SEMONT MANEUVER
This exercise is similar to the Epley maneuver, though not as popular in the United States. For dizziness from the left ear and side:
  1. Sit on the edge of your bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the right.
  2. Quickly lie down on your left side. Stay there for 30 seconds.
  3. Quickly move to lie down on the opposite end of your bed. Don't change the direction of your head. Keep it at a 45-degree angle and lie for 30 seconds. Look at the floor.
  4. Return slowly to sitting and wait a few minutes.
  5. Reverse these moves for the right ear.

Again, do these moves three times a day until you go 24 hours without vertigo.

HALF-SOMERSAULT OR FOSTER MANEUVER
Some people find this maneuver easier to do:
  1. Kneel down and look up at the ceiling for a few seconds.
  2. Touch the floor with your head, tucking your chin so your head goes toward your knees. Wait for any vertigo to stop (about 30 seconds).
  3. Turn your head in the direction of your affected ear (i.e. if you feel dizzy on your left side, turn to face your left elbow). Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Quickly raise your head so it's level with your back while you're on all fours. Keep your head at that 45-degree angle. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Quickly raise your head so it's fully upright, but keep your head turned to the shoulder of the side you're working on. Then slowly stand up.
You may have to repeat this a few times for relief. After the first round, rest 15 minutes before trying a second time.

BRANDT-DAROFF EXERCISE
Here’s what you need to do for this exercise:

  1. Start in an upright, seated position on your bed.
  2. Tilt your head around a 45-degree angle away from the side causing your vertigo. Move into the lying position on one side with your nose pointed up.
  3. Stay in this position for about 30 seconds or until the vertigo eases off, whichever is longer. Then move back to the seated position.
  4. Repeat on the other side.

You should do these movements from three to five times in a session. You should have three sessions a day for up to 2 weeks, or until the vertigo is gone for 2 days.


Follow Up
For the rest of the day after doing any of these exercises, try not to tilt your head too far up or down. If you don't feel better after a week of trying these moves, talk to your doctor again, and ask what he/she wants you to do next.

You might not be doing the exercises right, or something else might be the cause of your dizziness.

Don’t do anything that’s dangerous while you lack balance, such as driving or exercising, which can cause you to fall and become injured.

Sit down or lay down and rest immediately when you feel dizzy.

Be careful about getting up suddenly in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, and always use good lighting if you do get up from bed when it’s dark.

Gingko Biloba

Ginkgo biloba has been studied for its effects on vertigo and found to be as effective as the leading prescription medication to treat vertigo.
