Poison Ivy Remedy

Run area with rash under hot water or get in a hot bath, or hot wet washcloth (do not burn yourself but very hot works best) this opens the pores & releases the oil so you will itch like crazy but keep the water in contact till the itching stops, usually like a minute, then rub table salt or sea salt gently in & let sit a minute then rinse with hot water, then wash very well with Dawn or other grease removing dish soap you have on hand, (but original blue dawn works the best)rinse again with hot water then put cool water on it, this only takes a few minutes but the first time gives you hours of relief & it usually gets rid of it pretty fast, & you can repeat when needed &DO NOT dry between each step.

And no the hot water does not spread it, someone had Poison Ivy 4 or 5 weeks with it feeling like it spread every hour, from the very first time they got in the tub & did this the spreading stopped & they got relief. The key though is to do the steps & if you are doing it in the tub to get right out when done.

Also, if you know you came in contact with poison ivy or oak etc., just spray area with vinegar & wait a minute & rinse off, if very allergic carry a spray bottle of ½ & ½  vinegar & water spray bottle out with you.
