A teaspoon of hydrogenated fat has a half-life in the body of 52 days compared to butter's 12 day half-life. This makes hydrogenated oil very difficult to eliminate once eaten. It stays with you for nearly a year and a half.
Hydrogenated oil was first invented in 1903 for Soap. In 1911 Proctor and Gamble came out with Crisco. No one would buy it so they gave it away. After 1914 big companies became big successes because they found that with hydrogenated oil in their product it could sit on the shelves for months at room temperature, and it was cheap. This meant BIG PROFITS.
A dramatic increase in disease was apparent during the 30's and 40's. First was a new disease that seemed like diabetes but was not caused by a deficiency of insulin. The medical profession did not know what caused the insulin to be resistant. They were perplexed to what was this new disease and labeled it Diabetes II.
The next dramatic increase was heart disease and then cancer.
It was apparent that there was a correlation here to the introduction of the hydrogenated oil in our food supply and the appearance of new health issues.
The fusing of oils and metal could very well be the reason why high levels of aluminum are detected in people, which is believed to cause Cancer and Alzheimer's. The largest age group that heart disease seems to effect is surprisingly the 21-29 year old, presumably from fast foods. Also attention deficit disorder, depression and suicide are attributed to the use of hydrogenated oil.
Most European countries have limited these oils to only 4% or banned them completely. Denmark has banned them for over 50 years. They also have the lowest rates of heart disease, cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, and auto immune disease in the world. They also consume more saturated fat in the form of dairy product.
American food manufacturers have manipulated our foods in a way that scientific research shows has compromised our health. The only reason this substance is in our foods is so the large manufacturers can make big profits at our expense.
The best way to determine if a food has Hydrogenated Oil is to READ THE LABEL. Another way this oil will be hidden in the food: They list it as mono-diglycerides or it will say *adds a nominal amount of fat.
Please consider removing this substance from your diet for yourself and your loved ones. A better choice id extra virgin cold pressed oils.
Thank you for reading this important information and start using extra virgin cold pressed olive or coconut oils.
