Coconut Aminos

PLEASE RECOMMEND AND USE ONLY THE MOST HEALTHFUL RECIPES!!!

“The Lord loves us, and he does not want us to do ourselves harm by following unhealthful recipes…” {CD 297.4}

“Let health reformers remember that they may do harm by publishing recipes which do not recommend health reform…” {CD 334.5}

“…Let our people discard all unwholesome recipes.” (CD 349.1)

PLEASE STOP IF YOU ARE USING THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS:

-Braggs Aminos

-Aminos of any kind (we are not made to eat aminos, but to eat food that contains natural protein which will       break down into Aminos in our bodies)

-Soy Sauce

-Nutritional Yeast Flakes (the broth poured over it is full of MSG)

-Baking Powder (any kind) as they have carbonates and bi-carbonates which are poison

-Baking Soda (any kind)

-Cinnamon (Irritating Spice)

-Spices of any kind such as nutmeg, allspice, (ginger and turmeric are not spices; they are roots)

-Condiments – (most all have vinegar in them)

-Food Coloring

-Vinegar

-Apple Cider Vinegar and White Vinegar

-Black Pepper

-Cayenne Pepper

AND MORE!!!

We are to eat everything fresh, nothing aged or fermented. Coconut aminos are aged.

Secondly, we are not to eat amino acids… it confuses the body. We are to eat protein foods that will break down into amino acids in the body.  And it’s true, we get the 9 essentials in diet (fruit, vegetables, nuts, grains) we don't need coconut aminos.  Sister White and the pioneers didn't use coconut aminos, and they did just fine.

If you can show me from the SOP where we need coconut aminos I will change my mind. That's just something someone came up with and made to convince people they need so they can make money.

It's not food...it's chemically processed. It is also fermented and high in sodium. It also contains "coconut vinegar".

ARE COCONUT AMINOS GLUTEN-FREE? ARE THEY VEGAN?

Yes. Coconut aminos are both gluten-free and vegan. The only ingredients in coconut aminos are coconut sap (sugar) and salt. A few brands add coconut sugar or a little bit of coconut vinegar, but they are all gluten-free and vegan. That proves it is fermented. It is made in a lab. It’s not natural. You can't find it on a tree, bush, vine, out of the ground.

Soy Sauce is from a soy bean, but the process of making it is not natural...it is chemically processed and they use a lot of salt.

IT'S FERMENTED...READ THIS:

"Once the sap is collected from the coconut blossoms, it is blended with sea salt and aged to make coconut aminos".  I got that from the following link: https://paleocrashcourse.com/what-is-coconut-aminos/

AGED = FERMENTED

It's not fresh – our food should be fresh, not "aged"

Definition of aged

1: grown old: such as

a: of an advanced age an aged man

b: having attained a specified age a man aged 40 years

2: typical of old age –the aged wrinkles in my cheeks —Shakespeare

3: having acquired a desirable quality or undergone an expected and desired change with the passage of time aged wine aged cheese

A friend of mine called and talked with Monica with coconut secrets...she says it is fermented, and the fermentation process takes 8 weeks. No yeast added. I asked her if it was aged, and her reply was, yes, it is fermented.  I then asked her how many weeks, and she said 8… the stuff is fermented for 8 weeks!!! That becomes alcoholic like. That violates our health message. The food we eat should be fresh, not aged.

Cockroach’s Exterminated Overnight Without Chemicals

Borax Balls
This recipe (which is even acknowledged by pest control companies) uses boric acid powder, which is pretty safe to keep around humans and pets, but terrible news for cockroaches. Boric acid will damage the skeleton of the cockroach, dehydrate it, and works like a poison. You will see it begin to work within 24-72 hours. The process as a whole will probably take 3-4 weeks.

Warning: Borax is toxic to animals if ingested, do not use this method if you have pets or proceed with caution.

Materials Needed
  • Raw Egg Yolk
  • 30-50 grams of Boric Acid Powder (or borax or boric powder acid)
  • You also need some latex gloves

 What to Do
  • Mix the egg yolk and boric acid powder (or alternative) together well.
  • Put your gloves on. Make small round balls out of the mixture while maintaining 1 cm diameters.
  • In an hour, you will probably find them completely dry. Now they are ready to use.

Key Steps
In order for these to work most effectively, it is important to take certain other measures too. I am including key tips from goodgeek.info in the procedure. First, you have to make sure the cockroaches don’t have access to any food particles. You need to clean your spaces of any food particles.

After this, we need to take care of our water pipes and other areas with water. We want to make sure there isn’t any water standing around that cockroaches may feel drawn too, nor that our pipes are leaking. We also want to make sure the pipes have proper insulation so that moisture doesn’t condense on them.

Where to Place the Borax Balls
We want to think practically and creatively when placing the borax balls. We want to put them close to the surface where the cockroaches will see them and go to taste them. There are points that will be helpful to keep in mind when choosing where to place them.

Where are the cockroach headquarters in the place? One tip from pestsoff.com is to sneak up on them at night. First, for a couple of hours, be sure to keep all lights off in the area (ideally floor) where the cockroaches seem to like going. Next quietly go to the area, quickly turn the lights on, and observe.

Where do you find them? By this point, they must be moving rapidly. Exactly where are they going? This will give you an idea of the areas it will be most effective placing the borax balls. Also, when they are in large groups they give off a very weird and off-putting smell. This smell can also give you clues.

As mentioned before, they like being near food and water. You will likely find them within 5 feet of these sources. You want to put these balls around the cracks and crevices in and around walls, doors, and furniture. Check around appliances like the stove and fridge; they feel safe going there.

Other places to check up at include basements, cupboards, electronics, drains and sewer systems. Another area that you use every day where the cockroaches can hide is the bathroom! Yes, the bathroom.

Sealing Walls
It’s important to seal cracks and crevices on walls and cupboards with silicon. Sometimes cockroaches can travel into our homes through the items we bring in our clothing. When bringing in any such items, including groceries and laundry, we want to make sure they don’t contain cockroaches or other pests. That can save a lot of time and energy in the long run.

How to Disinfect Walls
When cleaning surfaces cockroaches have contaminated, such as walls, we want to disinfect properly. One way is to make a mixture of baking soda and soapy water. I suggest wearing latex gloves and doing this through dipping a microfiber cloth into the mixture and wiping the walls. Don’t drench the walls, as this could ruin your wall and its paint. You also want to make sure we keep cleaning the cloth so that you don’t spread contaminants. Then do another wipe on the walls using a different, clean, and wet microfiber cloth.

Off We Go
With patience and persistence, you can clear your space of the pesky pests. You want to do this as soon as you see any cockroaches, in order to protect your home as well as the health and wellbeing of yourself and your family. You can do it! Take back the kitchen!

Cochineal

The cochineal is a scale insect in the suborder Sternorrhyncha, from which the NATURAL DYE CARMINE is derived.

Cochineal – Red #40 comes from this, they smash the red bugs.

1. A scarlet dye used chiefly for coloring food.

2. The dried bodies of a female scale insect, which are crushed to yield this dye.

In January 2006, the FDA evaluated a proposal that would require food products containing carmine to list it by name on the ingredient label.[6] It was also announced that the FDA will separately review the ingredient labels of prescription drugs which contain colorings derived from carmine. A request from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (article titled: “FDA Urged to Improve Labeling of or Ban Carmine Food Coloring”[7][8]) to require ingredient labels to explicitly state that carmine may cause severe allergic REACTIONS and anaphylactic shock and that it is derived from insects was declined by the FDA. Food industries were aggressively opposed to the idea of writing “insect based” on the label and they finally agreed to simply putting “CARMINE.”

In the United States, carmine is approved as dye for foodstuffs. In January 2009, FDA passed a new regulation[9] requiring carmine and cochineal to be listed by name on the label.

Although concerns over hazards from allergic reactions have been asserted,[10] the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not banned the use of carmine and states it found no evidence of a “significant hazard” to the general population.[11] As with many chemical compounds, the dye may still pose an allergen hazard to a subset of the population.

Anytime you see an ingredients list that includes carmine, cochineal extract or natural red 4, you can be sure that there's a little powdered bug therein.

Cochineal may be made from bugs, but other synthetic red dyes such as Red No. 2 and Red No. 40, which carry far greater health risks, are derived from either coal or petroleum byproducts. Compared with these sources, bugs might sound positively appetizing…NOT!

My advice? READ LABELS and KNOW what you are eating!

Citric Acid

WHAT IS CITRIC ACID?

Citric acid is a weak organic tricarboxylic acid having the chemical formula C6H8O7It occurs naturally in citrus fruits. In biochemistry, it is an intermediate in the citric acid cycle, which occurs in the metabolism of all aerobic organisms.

More than a million tons of citric acid are manufactured every year. It is used widely as an acidifier, as a flavoring and chelating agent.[7]

CITRIC ACID (By: Ray Sahelian, M.D.)
Citric acid is responsible for the tart taste of many fruits where it is found. Citric acid is present in citric fruits such as lemons, limes, oranges, and pineapples. Citric and lactic acid are organics acids used primarily in the food and beverage industry as acidulent and preservative. Other commercially important acids are malic, fumaric and tartaric. Citric acid is well known as the source of tart flavor from fruit juices, lactic acid is known to those who exercise hard as an incomplete respiration product in the human body.

WHERE IS CITRIC ACID FOUND?
Citric acid is used in soft drinks and in laxatives and cathartics. Its salts, the citrates, have many uses, e.g., ferric ammonium citrate is used in making blueprint paper. Sour salt, used in cooking, is citric acid.

HOW IS CITRIC ACID MADE?
Citric and lactic acids are PRODUCED BY FERMENTATION which utilized a carbohydrate source such as corn based starch and sugar beet molasses. Fermentation yields a crude purity product which requires further refining. One refining technique utilities a precipitation process, this process first uses lime to produce calcium citrate solids, this is then contacted with sulfuric acid which produces a partially purified soluble citric acid and calcium sulfate by product. Another technique used is solvent extraction. These processes produce streams which require demineralization by ion exchange.

Citric acid can be extracted from the juice of citrus fruits by adding calcium oxide (lime) to form calcium citrate, an insoluble precipitate that can be collected by filtration; the citric acid can be recovered from its calcium salt by adding sulfuric acid. Citric acid is obtained also by fermentation of glucose with the aid of the mold Aspergillus niger and can be obtained synthetically from acetone or glycerol.

Citric acid is obtained also by fermentation of glucose with the aid of the mold Aspergillus niger and can be OBTAINED SYNTHETICALLY FROM ACETONE [link is to product info at rockler] OR GLYCEROL.

CITRIC ACID CYCLE

Also called Kreb's cycle or tricarboxylic acid cycle, the citric acid cycle is a series of enzymatic reactions in aerobic organisms involving oxidative metabolism of acetyl units and producing high-energy phosphate compounds, which serve as the main source of cellular energy.

The name citric acid cycle is derived from the first product generated by the sequence of conversions, i.e., citric acid. The reactions are seen to comprise a cycle inasmuch as citric acid is both the first product and the final reactant, being regenerated at the conclusion of one complete set of chemical rearrangements.
Citric acid is a so-called tricarboxylic acid, the chemical formula containing three carboxyl groups (COOH). Hence the Krebs cycle is sometimes referred to as the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle.

CITRIC ACID INTOLERANCE

From Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia

Citric acid intolerance is a little-known type of food intolerance in which sufferers report various symptoms in response to foods or other products containing citric acid that they attribute neither to its properties as an acid nor to an Aspergillus niger hypersensitivity. (In addition to foods naturally rich in citric acid, the fungi Aspergillus niger is a common source of citric acid.)

A form of citrate metabolism called the Citric acid cycle is an essential step in the production of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) for human beings and all other eukaryotes. This process takes place in the mitochondria of all cells that contain them. However, according to a website [1] by Vicky Clarke, some people report gas, migraines, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, or skin rashes after contact with citric acid.

As with all food intolerances, symptoms may vary between individuals and can mimic those of a food allergy. It mimics allergies to such a degree that some people refer to it as a Citric Acid Allergy. A food intolerance (sometimes called food sensitivity) is a body's inability to digest certain compounds in food. The reasons that this happens seems to be caused by several factors, and more research needs to be done to determine what all of these factors are.

Food intolerances appear to cause reactions in direct proportion to the amount of the offending substance is ingested, whereas, any amount of an allergen will cause the immune system react. According to a website by Luke Hawthorne,[2] in addition to abdominal problems, other reactions to citric acid have been experienced, including hives and other rashes, blurred vision, rhinitis and difficulty breathing.

It's vitally important to determine whether or not a person has an allergy or an intolerance, and the only way to do this is to see a licensed doctor, preferably an allergist or other specialist.

Circumcision

BIBLE:

Gal 5:2-3 - Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Gal 5:12 - I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Gal 6:13 - For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Phil 3:2-3 - Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Circumcision is another hot topic for debate. Many people choose to circumcise for religious reasons, others do it because they and everyone they know are circumcised. Still others choose to circumcise because they’ve heard it’s healthier or more hygienic.

However, routine circumcision is not necessarily more hygienic or healthier. In studies, the only risk factor that increases in non-circumcised males are UTIs, which are much less likely to occur in men versus women. The risk is so low that circumcision is classified, by the American Medical Association as a non-therapeutic procedure. The American Academy of Pediatrics has never, in it’s 75 years of operation, recommended infant circumcision.

ACCORDING TO INTACT AMERICA:
The foreskin is a normal, sensitive, functional part of the body. In infant boys, the foreskin is attached to the head of the penis (glans), protects it from urine, feces, and irritation, and keeps contaminants from entering the urinary tract. The foreskin also has an important role in sexual pleasure, due to its specialized, erogenous nerve endings and its natural gliding and lubricating functions.”

Circumcision is also becoming less common. About half of infant boys today are not subjected to routine circumcision (up from about 19% in 1981). So when those boys are teenagers about half of their peers will look just like them.

You can allow your male child to make the choice for himself when he is old enough. Since circumcision is non-therapeutic, there is no medical reason it needs to be done in infancy.

Baby Circumcision Myths & Facts

There is a lot of misinformation surrounding routine newborn procedures, including baby circumcision. In fact, my husband and I nearly walked right into circumcising our son, believing it was medically necessary in some way.

Fortunately, we got the facts before we went down that road, and we’re sharing them here to help new moms and moms-to-be make their own decision.

Myth: Almost all men are circumcised.
Fact: Not so much. Globally, fewer than a third of all men are circumcised [World Health Organization, 2008]. And in the USA, recent studies show that fewer than half of all boys born in conventional hospitals from 2006-2009 were circumcised.

Myth: Baby circumcision is recommended by doctors and medical associations.
Fact: In 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics concluded that baby circumcision is not recommended as a routine procedure. The American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians agree.

Myth: It’s just a bit of skin; he won’t miss it.
Fact: The prepuce (foreskin) contains about 10,000 super-specialized nerve endings and a few feet of blood vessels. Without them sex may be less enjoyable. A study shows that the glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive than the glans of the intact penis. Anecdotal evidence points to sex being less satisfying for both partners when the man has been circumcised.

The foreskin also acts as protection for the glans. It keeps the glans moist and protects it from friction. When the glans is protected and kept moist penetration can happen more easily and causes less discomfort or pain for both partners.

Evidence also points to the gliding action of the foreskin during sex controlling erection and ejaculation as well as contributing to pleasure and satisfaction.

Myth: It’s easier to take care of a circumcised penis.
Fact: All you have to do with a child’s intact penis is leave it alone. As the boy reaches puberty, he’ll be able to retract his foreskin and rinse it as necessary. Not a big deal.
In fact, much of the discussion about uncircumcised penises being “dirty” come from ancient times when clean water and regular bathing were not common. We have access to plenty of clean water and soap these days.

Myth: Circumcision prevents urinary tract infections
Fact: Urinary tract infections just aren’t that common, nor are they life threatening. Baby circumcision does seem to help prevent UTIs, but, statistically, the number of circumcisions you’d have to do in a population to prevent a single UTI is staggering. Here’s a detailed report on the subject. The benefits of amputating a protective body part don’t outweigh the risks of a UTI.

It’s also worth mentioning that this study is based on bacteria in the urine and NOT on UTI symptoms. So there is no way of knowing how many of these boys would have developed a UTI from the bacteria found and which ones wouldn’t have.

Evidence has also shown that circumcision may actually cause UTI’s. E. coli needs an entry into the body. Intact boys’ foreskin protects them from E. coli entering the urethra. On the other hand, circumcised boys don’t have that protection and may be even more susceptible because of the dryness and inflammation of an unprotected glans.

Myth: Baby circumcision prevents penile cancer.
Fact: Though some evidence points to penile cancer being more common in intact men, the reason why is not fully understood. Also, circumcision is not a prevention for penile cancer so other precautions should be followed anyway, like avoiding contracting HIV or HPV, not smoking, and practicing proper hygiene, so circumcision is unnecessary.

Penile cancer is so rare that we would need to have 900 newborns circumcised to prevent one case of penile cancer. In a letter to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Cancer Society stated that it “does not consider routine circumcision to be a valid or effective measure to prevent [penile or cervical] cancers. Penile cancer rates in countries which do not practice baby circumcision are lower than those found in the U.S.”

Myth: Intact kids will get teased in the locker room.
Fact: These days nearly 50% of boys nationwide are left intact – so the circumcised boys may be just as likely to get teased. On the other hand, a little teasing (which we all experience for one reason or another) seems inconsequential compared to the shame, anger, and sense of loss that some circumcised men feel as adults knowing that their body was modified without their consent.

Myth: It prevents STD’s.
Fact: Circumcision does not prevent STDs. This myth has come about from African studies done in 2006 that showed men were somewhat less likely to contract HIV if they were circumcised. There are a number of things wrong with using this study to say that circumcision prevents transmission of HIV. The studies were not well done and the difference in HIV infection was statistically very small.

Also, a study done in an HIV epidemic area like Africa has little value to what can be expected in the US. In Africa, sex is not the only, or biggest, way people contract HIV. Unsterile medical conditions and mothers passing HIV to their babies are two other huge ways the epidemic is continuing. In the US, heterosexual, non IV drug users almost never contract HIV.

Some information even points to the foreskin helping prevent STD's. Langerhans cells are especially concentrated on the inner lining of the foreskin and have been shown in laboratory testing to attract pathogens, including HIV. Scientists initially took this to mean that these cells made infection more likely, but with newer information they conclude that these cells may actually act as a last defense against the infection entering the body. And let’s also keep in mind that the best way to prevent STD's is safe sex or abstinence.
